TLDcube is a small, lightweight and portable TLD Reader for measuring, analyzing and evaluating of thermoluminescent materials. Modern design and software combine easy operation and excellent performance in this newly developed reader. The ceramic heater with defined nitrogen cooling in the rotating drawer accepts all standard TLD shapes.</p>
<p>TLDcube is available in two versions as TLDcube 400 with heating capability up to 400°C and as TLDcube 600 which provides heating capabilities up to 600°C.</p>
<p>The software includes calibration and QA features, data storage and export options as xml file or Excel file to meet all typical requirements.</p>

<p>Aluminium cards with codabar barcodes for use in Harshaw or equivalent TLD card readers. The cards are offered in a wide variety of configurations, with 1 to 4 TLD elements. The elements may be both LiF:Mg,Ti (MTS) and LiF:Mg,Cu,P (MCP) materials.</p>
<p>Lithium is offered in different isotopic composition: natural, 7Li enriched and 6Li enriched. Enrichment of lithium in 7Li is &gt;99.9%, enrichment in 6Li is about 95%.</p>

<p><strong>High capacity</strong><br />
The Rados Dosimeter Irradiator IR-2000 has been designed for calibration of the Rados TL- based dose control system. The instrument is used for sensitivity calibration of the system, for system linearity checking and for individual sensitivity calibration of the TL- material in use.</p>
<p>The Irradiator is microprocessor controlled and uses stepping motor for controlled irradiation of the dosimeter pellets. During the irradiation process the pellets are continuously moved past the source in order to provide precise and equal dose for each individual pellet. The drift of exposure of individual pellet in one dosimeter card is negligible.</p>
<p>A source of Sr90 is used to give standard doses of app. 1mSv. The irradiator may be programmed to give linearly increasing dose steps for checking the system linearity. The actual dose may be varied by repeated irradiations.</p>

The environmental equivalent dose is intended to serve as a good approximation for an effective dose for a person who is positioned facing any direction within measuring range of the radiation field. In contrast to the old open-air-area-dose-measured-quantity Hx there is now the environmental-equivalent-dose H*(10), defined on a phantom at 10 mm depth in the ICRU-sphere (International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurement).</p>
<p>Therefore the previous Hx-photon-area-dosemeters are not or are only partly usable for measurement the new measured-quantity H*(10). H*(10)-area-dosemeters should indicate the equivalent dose of enetrating radiation above 15 keV.</p>

<p><strong>Concept</strong></p>
<p>The solution worked out at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research GmbH is based on standard Harshaw-type TLD detector cards placed inside a scattering body made of polyethylene.</p>
<p>Placed inside the dosimeter, two out of four crystals of the TLD card are shielded by a thin copper foil acting as a filter. The combination of the dose measurements of the two detector pairs leads to a response function which very closely resembles the H*(10) measure. The two Cu-filters make possible dosimetry in a very broad energy (10keV to 10MeV) and angular range.</p>
<p>These characteristics represent a significant improvement compared to commercially available solutions. Standard solutions follow the H*(10) function only in a much smaller energy range from about 100keV to 1MeV. As a result of its special design, the dosimeter can be used under almost all weather and environmental conditions.</p>

There is evidence that eye lens doses are high in interventional radiology and cases of cataracts have been reported in recent years. Individual dosemeters carried on the trunk are unable to</p>
<p>correctly measure the eye lens doses. EYE-D <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> allows for precise measurements of radiation doses to eye lens, also in case when protective glasses are used.</p>
<p>In EYE-D <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> the proven and reliable high-sensitive thermoluminescence detectors MCP-N (LiF:Mg,Cu,P) are applied, which assure the good energy – response and broad dose range between at least 10 μSv and 10 Sv.</p>
<p>Calibration and testing of dosemeters were performed on cylindrical water phantom 20 cm diameter, 20 cm height with 0.5 cm PMMA walls.</p>

<p><strong>Albedo Neutron Dosimeter with TLD Cards</strong><br />
Albedo neutron dosimeters measure indirect neutrons, scattered by the human body, creating a neutron flux of thermal and albedo neutrons at the surface of the body. They have been found to be the only dosimeters which can measure doses due to neutrons over the whole range of energies.</p>
<p>Further the boron-loaded plastic encapsulation allows the simultaneous measurement of beta dose, gamma dose and neutron dose.</p>
<p>Two types of Lithium Fluoride are used to separate doses contributed by gamma-rays and neutrons. MTS-6 (enriched in 6Li and very sensitive to thermal neutrons) and MTS-7 (containing very little of 6Li and has a negligible neutron response).</p>
<p>6LiF has one of the highest thermal neutron sensitivity of any phosphors. Most of the neutrons will be absorbed inside the MTS-6 pellet within a few 0.1 mm of penetration.</p>
