Description
GALILEO 9900P finds its main application in monitoring of scrap metal, steel plates, or foundry dust.
The architecture of the system is simple and modular, thus highly adaptable.
The system is composed of a fixed structure installed directly above or under a conveyor. The detector is housed in a stainless-steel box, properly shielded to lower the environmental background contribution.
The typical volume of the plastic scintillators is 25 l, but smaller 7.5 l detectors can be provided upon request.
The detectors are equipped with a PMT and an electronics module for HV supply and signal processing. The system is managed by a desktop or panel PC through a user-friendly software interface.
Measurements are performed continuously, through moving average data analysis and on the basis of a pre-set integration time. The system performs the subtraction of the environmental background, which can be automatically determined or set to a fixed value, and provides luminous and acoustic warnings when the pre-set alarm threshold is trespassed.
The results of the measurements are saved in the internal archive, and printable reports are available to the user.
